A Tribute to Mildred Olson (1921-2008). She was a Dear Christian Friend who is greatly missed....I am blessed to have known Mildred Olson and her family. She Loved Jesus... and She Loved Me.
This is my Smooth Jazz/Vocal Version
Mildred Olson passed away May 10, 2008.
Mildred graduated from Sylvia (KS) High School in 1939; attended Beauty School in Hutchinson. Even as a High School Senior, "She Had a Flair for Hair".
She and her husband moved to Dodge City (KS) in 1946 where she operated a beauty shop for 15 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Stephen Ministry of Dodge City...and AGLOW INTERNATIONAL.
I re-connected with Mildred while singing and ministering at an AGLOW INTERNATIONAL meeting in Dodge City in 1993...and had the privilege of praying with her and others at that time.
She will be remembered as one filled with love and laughter by all who knew her.
This song reflects my admiration for her...Her Faith in Jesus Christ....and is my way of grieving her departure.
Over the years, I have also had the blessing of knowing some of her family. All versions of this song are dedicated to Lawrence "Ole" Olson (Her Husband), Connie Nixon (Her Daughter), Ronald and Donald Olson (Her Sons) and all of their families.
(1)
I opened the morning paper and found she was gone today
I really wasn't ready, there were still things I wanted to say
But, Despite her sudden going I'll always cherish her memory
Oh how She loved Jesus...Oh how She loved Jesus...
and She loved me...and She loved me.
(2)
The years had stolen her memory, but they could not steal her heart
And deep down in her Spirit, There was still a very special part
Where the Holy Spirit was alive and well, and I could clearly see
Oh how She loved Jesus...Oh how She loved Jesus...
Oh-o-o-o how She loved Jesus...and She loved me.
(Instrumental Bridge)
*** (Change Chord Progression)
Now She's Praising God in heaven... Singing with the Angel Band
And Amazing Grace never sounded so sweet up there in that Holy Land
She's dancing for the King of Kings, her Spirit's been set free.
Oh how she loves Jesus...Oh how she loves Jesus....
Oh she loves Jesus
And she loves me.
