This song comes from my appreciation for what I was taught growing up and my hope to continue the trend in my children and grandchildren.
The Cherokee and Comanche,
The Souix and the Crow,
Hunted for their survival
With the arrow and the bow,
And it goes on.
They hunted pronghorn on the prarie,
Elk in the hills,
Deer in the valleys
Or out in the fields,
And it goes on.
My Father was a hunter
As his was before him.
Passed down through generations,
The knowledge and the skill,
And it goes on.
They hunted pronghorn on the praries,
Elk in the hills,
Deer in the valleys
Or out in the fields,
And it goes on.
Now I'll teach all my children
And my grandchildren, too,
Take care of what God's provided
And it'll always be there for you,
And it goes on.
They'll hunt the pronghorn on the praries,
Elk in the hills,
Deer in the valleys
Or out in the fields,
And it goes on.
So all you hunters listenin'
To the words I've wrote in this song,
Take a child when you go hunting
And pass this heritage along
So it goes on.....
And it goes on.
