My friend, Bob Sarrels, had written "this" song as "3D Blues" and named some local 3D shooters in it. I wanted to rewrite it and include it on my CD. Together we changed to words to fit my bowhunting theme for my CD.
I got the blues - 'cause I can't shoot my bow.
I got the bowhunter blues 'cause I just can't shoot my bow.
When I let that arrow fly, I don't know where it will go.
Well, I wish there was a pill that made me shoot like Howard Hill.
I'd take on any dare if I could shoot like Papa Bear.
I got the bowhunter blues 'cause I just can't shoot my bow.
When I let that arrow fly, I don't know where it will go.
The bucks would lose all hope if I could shoot like Pope.
I'd get the job done if I could shoot like Art Young.
I got the bowhunter blues 'cause I just can't shoot my bow.
When I let that arrow fly, I don't know where it's gonna go.
Life would sure be good if I could shoot like Robin Hood.
I'd jump up and yell if I shot like William Tell.
I got the bowhunter blues 'cause I just can't shoot my bow.
When I let that arrow fly, I don't know where it's gonna go.
I got the blues - 'cause I can't shoot my bow.
Oh, Lord, I got those bowhunter blues 'cause I just can't shoot my bow.
When I let that arrow fly, I don't know where it's gonna go.
I bet old Geronimo knew right where all his arrows would go.
