Singer Poet Teacher Pagan Nerd
I've been a singer, guitarist, percussionist, and songwriter for Celtic-American folk rock band Emerald Rose since 1996; my major instrument for the band is the bodhran, or traditional Irish frame drum. Being a singer-songwriter, however, has been part of my musical life since I was a teenager, and my solo endeavors return to this root. Many of my songs take their inspiration from the mystical path, Earth-centered spirituality, and Celtic mythology. I also continue to sing songs from the Celtic and American folk traditions. In addition, I'm a storyteller, stage magician, and former actor and dancer, so I have many performance skills to draw on.

Story behind the song
The lyric was written 20 years ago after a mystical night at the beach. It found its tune amid the blues
Lyrics
Listen lyrics by Arthur Hinds She Speaks in candle bright and water deep in the cry of an eagle or steady roebucks leap She explains in fading shadows of the dawn in dreams of the awakened with pretense gone Listen and know who she is Listen and know who she is She whispers through quickening burst of poem or song through opening vision, when you first belonged She also sings in the pounding chant of the running mare in the eyes of a mother, the creak of a rocking chair Listen and know who she is Listen and know who she is By standing stone or backyard flame Stare at the moon, Sing out her name You will find her patiently waiting, waiting for you. Close you eyes, Still your mind Open you heart, Leave the world behind Still the many voices till you find the one thats true She teaches in lunar riddles and mysteries in silence of the mind and tidal ecstasies She speaks to a heart empty and broken for a crying soul, for dreams left unspoken Listen and know who she is Listen and know who she is Listen and know who she is copyright 2008 Arthur Hinds
