This is a somewhat sad song about how nice it is to have someone to love when the world outside looks grim.

The idea came for this song one night and I played the music. The very next night I wrote out the lyrics and recorded it as a long-distance mp3 message for my wife, who was traveling.
Hope You're Alright
Darling I was hoping I would find you at home
Didn't want to face another night all alone
I hope you're happy and warm
Safe from the upcoming storm
You are the one that I love
And from the heaven above - FOR ME
*
Some bad news today - it made me shiver with cold
I'm feeling helpless inside like I am getting so old
Those mighty towers of trust
Came down and crumbled in dust
And now we're losing our way
Somehow we've got to be brave
And try to save what will save - FOR NOW
*
The spirit is willing but the flesh can be weak
The machine has grown strong and now it's starting to speak
It needs chaos and war to keep on
It will not stop until our freedoms are gone
Our love is trapped in those lies
We should be reaching the skies
Much like that bird as it flies - ARISE!
*
Darling I was wishing I could see you tonight
But now I'm only hoping that you're doing alright
You're such a long way away
And so I wait and I pray
That I can find you again
No matter how long it's been - HOW LONG?
(repeat verse 1)
