What does it take to win her heart?
I wrote this song for a girl I was interested in at the time. The lyrics are pretty much what was going through my mind as I was working up the balls to ask her out.
The clarinet part is important; both the girl in question and I play the clarinet.
(As a side note, I did eventually ask her out. I think I upset her; she never spoke to me again afterward! C'est la vie!)

WHAT DOES IT TAKE
Words and music by Ray Kim
Verse 1:
You were the last person I thought I'd ever see,
But when I saw you, a feeling I thought lost came back to me
Since then, I haven't thought about anything else but you
The feeling now is so strong, and it seems so true
Chorus:
Tell me, what does it take for me to win you over?
What does it take to win your heart?
What does it take for someone to love you?
What does it take to be part of your life?
Verse 2:
I feel like a kid back in his school-daze playground world,
Just like Charlie Brown trying to talk to that little red-haired girl
Hey girl, is someone there that you're waiting to see?
Is someone else out there, or could that one be me?
Chorus:
Tell me, what does it take for me to win you over?
What does it take to win your heart?
What does it take for someone to love you?
What does it take to be part of your life?
Bridge:
You're like a closed book I'm trying to open,
Wishing I could read the pages of your heart
Trying to figure out what youre feeling,
And wondering if I could play a part
Verse 3:
All I want is to tell you how I feel,
But I'm so afraid; is something there? Is this for real?
Everything about you just feels so right
Can't fight the feeling; I've got to let you know tonight
Chorus:
Tell me, what does it take for me to win you over?
What does it take to win your heart?
What does it take for someone to love you?
What does it take to be part of your life?
