A song about us and our abuse of our planet, everything on it and each other.

Watching documentaries on tv about global warming etc you can't help but wonder if we're capable of bringing about real changes when we're all so wrapped up in our own materialism. Just my observationI don't see myself as an exception.
Who are we kidding we think we're civilised
But the rich they get richer and rest just survive
To wave little flags for the queen or the king
we haven't learned a thing.
There have been good times that passed all too soon
Peace, love and happiness and men on the moon
Those days are gone now as the earth feels our sting
We haven't learned a thing
Look at our planet as it struggles to cope
Warming up slowly until there's no hope
Greedy and desperate, to our money we cling
We haven't learned a thing
And look at the forests where the mighty trees stood
Theyre gone forever, because we wanted wood,
They made way for more cities and the huge crowds that brings
We haven't learned a thing
Look at the creatures God left in our care
Pushed into cages so we can all stare
Others are skinned for the cash they might bring
We haven't learned a thing.
And look at the oceans where life had once teemed
Unending food chain, at least so it seemed
Huge empty places where the whales used to sing
We haven't learned a thing.
And no one is responsible, and no one takes the blame,
Everyone is innocent, no one feels ashamed
Just a handful who worry, what the future might bring
We haven't learned a thing.
And look at the people who run for there lives
Their homes are left burning as the nightmare arrives
Terrified children with burns on their skin
We haven't learned a thing.
