This song was inspired by Hanna Harley who was a victim of shaken baby syndrome and lost the right half of her brain. Her mom's boy friend was sentenced to 20 years. She rode at Wings of Hope, a therapeutic riding academy with my daughter Ann who has Down Syndrome.
She wants to ride 2007 Samuel joseph Harris
She keeps her saddle blanket on her trundle bed
vision on snowflakes dance in her head
Her boots and her saddle stand in the hall
Jingle bells and christmas card
hang on her wall
She wants to ride in the snow
And she won't mind the sting
When the cold wind blows
She's a tough little thing
She wants to round up some rain-deer
And teach 'um the fly
When snow comes to Texas
she want to ride
But deep down in Texas
We never see the snow
But how do you tell her- when she's 5 year old
All she wants for Christmas is snow in her yard
Just like the picture on her Christmas card
repeat chorus
Bridge
But a cold wind blows from the old North Pole
On a sad December day
An angel came on a horse with wings
And took that little cowgirl away
It didn't snow that Christmas in San Antonio
It didn't snow in Dallas or in Amarillo
But deep down in Texas where the prairie winds blow
You'll find a small hill all covered with snow
And she rides through the snow
And she don't mind the sting
When the cold wind blows- she's a tough little thing
Now she's rounding up rain deer to teach 'um to fly
Snow came to Texas
and now she can ride
Yes, snow came to Texas and now she can ride
