Story behind the song
The backing is GothaDelic's (Jeff Lilland's) "SOULIFIED FUNKARELIC", basically a funkyass guitar/bass blues-type groove.
As for the FIRST Lyric Idea, after hearing this groove, all I thought about was "A Sunday Afternoon Soul Food Dinner". I even had the 'menu' ready (ha ha!). But, another (semi-related), much HIGHER Idea hit me:
make this the DAILY DOSE OF FUNK's first ever "Thanksgiving" song, utilizing the true spirit of the holiday.
After listening to the final result, I believe this song "tastes" as good as if feels.
N-Joy (and Jeff, this is LONG OVERDUE buddy; think of it as making up for not being able to do "Maggot Brain" with ya'. It all worked out. ^_^).
