Lyrics
Sitting out back on my patio,
Watching the neighbors watch HBO.
You'd think they'd change the channels now and then.
I’ve been at it for five days straight,
Sitting here drinking my life away,
Well aware of the fact that I've missed work again.
Rumor spreading through the neighborhood,
This time she done left for good,
But how would they know.
Empty bottles are all they see,
When they peek over the fence at me;
Every shade of amber,
Across the lawn.
They don’t see my heart broke tears,
Just me tossing off another beer;
Making empty bottles,
All night long.
I do my best to keep the noise down,
The tripping and the stumbling and my clanking around,
I reckon all this racket disturbs the peace.
In and out of my back door,
Only one thing I’m going in for,
I tried to move the fridge out here but the cord won’t reach.
A neighbor's bound to call 9-1-1,
Thinking I'm having too much fun,
But how would they know.
When I feel heartache creeping in,
I head for the fridge again,
It never ends.
