Moonlight On The Gulf Of Mexico

Sittin' 'neath a willow tree
Takin' in a cool night breeze
And watchin' the stars in the sky
Shrimp boats light the Bay
Out Cat Island way
Feel that soft spray hit your face
Well, I was raised on grits and catfish
I've skied in the Vermont snow
But I've never seen anything as beautiful
As moonlight on the Gulf of Mexico
Walk along a sandy beach
Watchin' mother seagulls teach
First-time fishin' to their young
Salty air and the gentle roar
Of waves crashin' on a moonlit shore
There's no place else I'd rather be
I've been from New York to L.A.
and all points in between
But I've never seen anything as beautiful
As moonlight on the Gulf of Mexico
As moonlight on the Gulf of Mexico
