Story behind the song
I wrote this song for a friend who was on the edge. The second verse is taken from a personal family experience.
Lyrics
Just south of Frebora somewhere down 101 I ran into an old friend he was on the run From a women behind him and the law up ahead And nowhere to go but south again We drank some tequila under the desert sky And we talked about old times I think I seen him cry The words turned to silence night turned to day And when the noon bell came along he was gone again And I will sing this song for you In the hopes it will carry, carry you through If life doesn't happen exactly like you planned Just keep on doing the best that you can I've heard uncle Jimmy aint been right these days Folks say that he's crazy he shouldn't be that way But ever since Martha died it just aint the same Now that she's gone and never coming back again And I will sing this song for you In the hopes it will carry, carry you through If life doesn't work out exactly like you planned Just keep on believing the best that you can
