Lyrics
[09-04-07] If it seems like there’s a new Republican scandal every week, let’s just say you wouldn’t be wrong. Go to TheAngryMinute.com and see it. Each and every week, the Republicans have managed to embroil themselves in soap opera like fashion. It’s almost like the only child looking for negative attention. And tomorrow just might be This Weeks’ Scandal. That’s because tomorrow, Fred Thompson is expected to announce his candidacy. At which time, Thompson will have to contend with the legality of his wait and see approach. You see, the Federal Election Commission has a set of rules that prevent the very clandestine campaign Thompson has been parading about. [audio] Thompson “testing the waters” Funny enough, that’s exactly what the FEC calls the rule, “Testing the Waters” Rule. But other GOP candidates will be harking it out in yet another Republican debate, and for a fifth time, without neoconservative presidential fence sitter Fred Thompson. That’s because, instead of attending the debate, Fred Thompson has chosen to appear on Jay Leno. That’s nice, nothing like Hollywood to connect with the masses. And really, what’s more Anytown, USA than the slice-of-life Los Angeles modestly sustains everyday. Fred Thompson is so average citizen, he takes a limousine to his pickup truck, parked on the outskirts of each and every event, just so he can pull up in his truck just like normal folks His already illegal campaign has yet to be officially announced, which summons the obvious question “Why doesn’t he just announce his candidacy?” Well, for one, by not announcing his candidacy, he doesn’t have to sit through the glib drummings of some liberal news anchor, posing intricate questions, requiring delicate answers and instead, enjoy the bright lights within the friendly confines of the ol barn, as Fred likes to call her, Burbank Studios. According to a Rasmussen Reports survey, GOP voters overwhelming consider Thompson to be the conservative vote, and several others show Thompson winning the Straw Poll in a landslide, all without an official campaign. Thompson’s campaign is third in financing, even without a getaway car to hide the loot. Seriously, would you announce a campaign if you were doing this good without one…? So, in the end, you have a former asbestos Lobbyist, teaming up with former tobacco executives, , who has already run an illegal campaign, whom apparently has already won the next election. In America, that sounds about right….
