23 years ago I sat in my little 24 foot travel trailor in Murfreesboro Tennessee, with my wife, 2 children at the time and my little Dachshund. I wrote two songs that week. Last Cajun Song & Sweet Dreams of Louisiana. The Last Cajun Song, being the 1st song I wrote in Tennessee, with the help of my wife, as she wrote the 2nd verse, has a hint of John Denver influence to it, as he was one of my mentors of music. Though this song is not of traditional cajun genre, the sound, is cajun folk based, the violin sets the mood to a New Orleans scene of a romantic evening, as a young couple dances under the stary night beneath the southern moss trees. Our beautiful arrangement of this song, also known as the Last Cajun Waltz. Is a beautiful waltz tune, that I hope will long be remembered by my family and fans long after I am gone. This is a very special song that will live eternally in the hearts of my wife and I, as it was also my late mothers favorite piece that we wrote.
Here we are baby, alone just we two
with no where to go, and nothing to do
Stay with me lady, while we dance all night long
to the Violins singing, the Last Cajun Song
The last cajun song, a song for us two
under moss heaven alone me and you
a touch of New Orleans, our own rendevous
a french creole splender, and a love that is true
So dance with me lady, as the stars that shine bright
alone by the river, and the New Orleans lights
Hold me tight lady, while we dance all night long
alone with the moonlight, and the Last Cajun Song
The last cajun song, a song for us two
under moss heaven alone me and you
a touch of New Orleans, our own rendevous
a french creole splender, and a love that is true
Here we are baby, alone just we two
with no where to go, and nothing to do
Stay with me lady, while we dance all night long
alone with the moonlight, and the last cajun song
Yes, Stay with me lady, while we dance all night long
to the Violins singing, the last Cajun Song
The last Cajun Song
