Story behind the song
The song was written in 2002, and there is not any special story or reason behind the song. I had a tune that needed lyric and this is it. In June 2007 i send a demo to Les Cotton and he did everything except Vocal and ovation acoustic guitar. Input from Les comes later
Lyrics
I have broken all my promises to you, and i run through the jungle and i cry. And i wonder how fare i have come, and i wonder how fare i will go It is your light burning in my eyes it is my past i am running from, running from There is a lady Madonna with blood in her eyes, she is a statue somewhere fare i never been And there is a mountain i will never clime, i will never clime, never clime This is the time for me to see all our days to come I say to you, i say to you the day that comes. I open my windows and i tear the curtain down oh lord i hate the emptiness The light of a day burns in my eyes how i am waiting to see you Can’t you hear me calling your name can’t you see i am nankeen and my body Is in flames. Burning for you. Here is silence all around us the birds gone to sleep, and our new day is here On my way through the tunnel were all life begins, I am home and i am in love with you. I can feel you are ready to come, and i am swimming in the eye of the storm. I say to you, i say to you the day that comes. Words and Music B.E. Nilsen 2002
