Blaming a navigational error, we began to correct our ships course. But immediately we realized there was no error. Although on a proper heading, the craft was in the middle of an uncharted debris field. Huge chunks of asteroid and planetary matter were scattered all around us impacting the weakening outer shields. After a systems scan, it was obvious what had happened. A recent Supernova of a local star had devastated the surrounding galactical domain. Our intended destination no longer existed. With impact damage increasing, we prepared to alter our course for the preservation of craft and crew.
