Story behind the song
One of the most recognizable sites in New York's Central Park is Bethesda Terrace with its sculpture of "Angel of the Waters" (Bethesda Fountain) by Emma Stebbins (unveiled 1873). The piece uses the opening two phrases of the chant "Asperges Me" and the sculpture is all about the healthy water of the Croton Reservoir.
This updated file now plays with the sounds of the actual Central Park "Angel" fountain.
