Great funky bass (especially in the bridge) with slightly shredding electric blues guitar with bluesey vocals and a rock rhythm
This song was inspired by an infestation of ants in the city of Durban, South Africa... they were so busy and crawled over any obstacle in their way, I couldn't help but see the analogy of life in the city.
Verse 1: Got no time to reflect on the finer things in life,
All we do is suppress all our feelings inside.
How can we express what we don't even know ourselves?
Busy, busy, busy, busy like the ants
We don't even have time to see the dance
Work all day
No time to delay
Chorus: Got those city blues again (x3)
You know I've got those city blues again.
Verse 2: Rush here, there, everywhere tryin' to make a buck or two
Eyes are glazed, minds in gear, focusing on what we have to do.
No deeper thoughts can find the space to penetrate through the working frenzy.
Busy, busy, busy, busy like the ants
We don't even have time to learn the dance
Work all day
No time to play.
Chorus
No time, no time to reflect
Focused on the object
No time, no time for the dance
Busy, busy like the ants
Chorus
