Quite difficult to categorise this song as it has a bossa nova rhythm, but the guitaring is quite mediterranean/Al di Meola ish and the vocals are slightly bluesey.
The song title was given to me in a dream about 9 years ago... I dreamt I went into a chinese gift shop and the man behind the counter asked me if I wanted a bit of luck. I said 'Yes please, I could always do with a bit of that' and so he handed me a white mug out of which I pulled a piece of paper; on it was written 'Dance with the wind'. When I woke up, I thought that it might be the name of a horse, but over the following year, I realised it was the title of a song. I had started doing Gabrielle Roth's 5 rhythms trance dancing when the lyrics came to me, and although I wrote the basic music for it, it really came to life when Graham put his awesome guitaring to it.
Verse 1: Whenever you're lonely and you're feeling down,
When people discuss you when you're not around,
Let love be your guidance, there is a way out
Chrous: Just dance, dance with the wind
Feel it flow within
Dance, dance, dance with the wind
Dance, dance with the wind.
Verse 2: When darkness surrounds you there seems no way out
When people around you just all scream and shout
Just follow your heart in the dance of your soul
Chorus
Verse 3: When this game confounds you frustration sets in
When all things around you just seem to cave in
Remember who you are and dance with the wind
Chorus
