Story behind the song
The walker was written about a gentleman in San Jose, California back in the 70's who could be seen along the highways, with his walking staff. He had to walk 20 miles a day because of his heart condition.
Lyrics
I'm walking down the road feeling fine Well I'm walking down following the Yellow line all the time Well my fate is such that if I stop It will be the end of the line So I keep on walking, to turn my life around And I keep on talking, yeah, in my mind Well I don't know how long I can keep on going So many miles I've been strollin' People go, people pass, in their cars Running late going fast So I keep on walking, to turn my life around And I keep on talking, yeah, in my mind If I stop too long from my walking I will never see the sun rise again I must keep on this road that I must follow Cause if I don't there will be no tomorrow So I keep on walking, to turn my life around And I keep on talking, yeah, in my mind
