Story behind the song
I served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era...While several of us faced redeployment to Vietnam; those orders never came down.
Three young men from my hometown (Dodge City, KS.) died in Vietnam.
Two cousins served in Vietnam and I have seen the pain in their eyes and have felt their wounded spirits.
How did "The Healing Wall" actually come about?
A friend said hello to a Vietnam Veteran and his Wife as we were leaving a restaurant.
The next day God gave me "The Healing Wall"....This was nearly 7 months ago which gives you some idea of the germination process in writing many of my songs.
