Kansas songwriter Steve Cowell presents his unique styles of pop/rock music and intelligent lyrics.
Hi, I'm Steve Cowell. I'm the leader of the group and I write all the words and music. I also play all the instruments and sing everything, which gets lonely at times, but at least there are few ego clashes and I get along pretty well with the other guys in the band most of the time. We all grew up together and have been playing music together since childhood.

Story behind the song
Dreams puzzle everyone. What, if anything, do they mean? I woke up one morning having a bizarre dream that made no sense whatsoever, and the first thing I thought as I woke up was "Dreams are nonsense, they don't mean a thing." Then as I went about my morning routine, the chorus of the song started evolving in my head. I picked up a guitar and the song fell out.
Lyrics
Hands Full of Air Copyright 2003 by Steve Cowell VERSE: Close your eyes, and slip into the rushing stream Where the rules of logic yield to random dreams Some are nonsense, some are wishes unfulfilled Are they hopes and fears, or Prophecy revealed? CHORUS: Dreams are mysteries with no solutions Interpretation gets you nowhere A house of mirrors, hallucinations Ghosts and fantasies, hands full of air VERSE: As you wake, your dreams may linger for a time Two realities are swirling in your mind You may wonder which environment is real It may trouble you, the way it makes you feel REPEAT CHORUS BRIDGE: So don't worry if your dreams are quite bizarre They don't say a thing about who you really are You won't remember most of what you dream at all Just have a laugh about the few that you can recall INSTRUMENTAL BRIDGE CHORUS TO FADE OUT
