3 minute jangle-pop, a la early R.E.M. maybe?
Not much of a story here: another "relationship" song (I write a lot of those). It's just over three minutes long, and contains jangly guitars and tons o' harmony. Ear candy? but does it have staying power?
Too late to Say Goodbye (Jan, 2007)
Verse 1
I don’t mean to steal your flame
I don’t need a poor excuse when there’s no one to blame
I guess it’s the price of fame
We may wonder where it went – and what it became
bridge
but what does it matter?
I know I’ll see you later
I know you’ve got some time to kill
You know I want it all
chorus
You’ve got no reply – no one left on whom you can rely
Before I met you I could touch the sky
I guess it’s not too late to say goodbye
Verse 2
I don’t mean to call your bluff
But I wonder how you’ll stand when things get tough
I know it may sound rough
But it seems to me your words aren’t nearly enough
Verse 3
If that’s just the way it is
I will leave you to yourself – you leave me to this
You seem okay with it
I know sometimes words and meanings don’t seem to fit
