Story behind the song
I wanted to create a piece which highlighted a certain theme.
Lyrics
Verse I: Necklace, dressed in a suit that’s firmly pressed, with a golden Rolex pocket watch tucked into his vest. He had fame, endless wealth and great success, but even at its best it was hard to digest. Although evident at times it was difficult to cope, he was reaching out for something and that something it was hope, so he started doing dope, initially by smoke, it was a habit that would send him down a slippery slope. Determined and bound, to retrieve his next round, he met this guy he knew up in the corner of town, hastily looking up and down for a substance that’s brown, but little did he know some shady things were going down. He had been searching around to buy this stuff by the pound; he was astonished when his precious hope was finally found. It really wasn’t hope but addiction in disguise, something which ultimately would determine his demise. Starring in his eyes who withheld the supplies there was a hint of great deception and a smile arised, glancing at his thighs he found two pistols of size, and finally realized, the situation wasn’t so wise. Taken quick by surprise, so he started to run, but the desperate dealer, went and pulled out a gun. And shot him in the back, just to get the stack, of money falling out his pockets for a deadly payback. The victim fell to the ground, bullets piercing his back, as he uttered a cry, lying on the tarmac. Blood started to pour, quickly staining the floor, and it finally rang true, his objects weren’t the cure. He was praying for more, something better in store, that would alleviate the countless pain he had to endure, knocking on heavens door, gazing up at the sky, then he pleaded for life, but there was no reply. In this time that went by, the man started to cry, his entire life began to flash in front of his eye, begging for a new try, in hopes of cleaning the slate, too little, too late, it was time to meet his fate. Chorus: A surreptitious revelation of magnificent measure, can undoubtedly transform a human being forever, the capacity to live a life of goodness or sin, ultimately indicates the consequences within. Verse II: On the threshold of heaven, his soul truly excelled, but his heart wasn’t pure, from the gates he’s expelled, and he rapidly fell, down approaching the earth, but his soul it kept going, so he feared for the worst. When he finally landed, where he just couldn’t tell, he was surrounded by flames within a fiery cell. Out of the ashes emerged a demonic figure, with insidious presence and inexplicable vigor. At that moment he knew, where he finally was, so he started to beg to the heavens above, out of great desperation he really started to pray, to forgive him of his sins and take transgressions away. At that very time, he was to say his farewell, he was protected from harm, and he soared up from hell, however not back to heaven, but instead up to earth, so he could resume his life and show what his soul was worth. He got the second chance that he so truly longed, so he could prove to god in heaven where he really belonged. Chorus: A surreptitious revelation of magnificent measure, can undoubtedly transform a human being forever, the capacity to live a life of goodness or sin, ultimately indicates the consequences within.
