A 6/8 contemporary 'call to worship' inviting and then acknowledging God's presence in our corporate worship time.
This song was actually written in reaction to a worship experience where the worship leader repeatedly called on the Holy Spirit to come and join us… over, and over, and over… I think it must be a little insulting to repeatedly be asked to come in when you’re already there. The Bible promises “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). So this songs invites God to meet us, claims His promise, and then acknowledges His presence among us. We typically use this song as an opener or call to worship.

And yet you make time for me
