grey clouds fill me up with anticipation
break and shower the world with precipitation
i watch lines of water fall
lightning strikes move faster than their partner
soon you'll hear the rolling sounds of thunder
for now just watch the lightning heat the sky
maybe this year it'll get a little colder
instead of watching those big droplets of water
snowflakes will blanket the ground beneath our feet
i hear the winds are changing and swirling together
it's a pretty scary aspect of the weather
funnel cloud tornados are moving through the streets
now the air is flying fast over tropical oceans
quickening it's pace in the swiftest of motions
a hurricane is here but the eye is over us
everybody's scared as they look out the window
praying for some safety but still that wind blows
the storm is getting stronger, trees crash in my backyard
and don't get me wrong
i like a sad song about the weather
but with dangerous winds and evacuation
i like it better when the sun shines
