Remember what it felt like the first time you went down the slide. Giving of yourself can feel that way, first the fear then just enjoy the ride.
First Time Down The Slide
In this house we live with plenty while so many go without.
Would I give up my last penny to help my neighbor out?
(1st chorus)
Where’s that line fall in my life? Am I expecting recognition?
Looking deep within myself, I see too much self ambition.
Like the first time down the slide. Why can’t I let go?
Will this ride be worth the fall? If I don’t try I’ll never know.
The old peasant woman gave all, out of love not expectations.
While the wealthy spared a few, she received His exaltations.
How can I turn this thing around? There must be something I can do.
A smile to a passing stranger, it’s a start I offer you.
Like the first time down the slide. Why can’t I let go?
Will this ride be worth the fall? If I don’t try I’ll never know.
(repeat 1st chorus)
