One Shining Star is a singular CD focused on romance, adventures of the heart, and down home flavors. It’s everything good about the lives we lead here in America. Whether singing a love song or painting a picture with words, “One Shining Star” scores on every level as a triumph of mood, memories, and magic. Here is what some of our customers-fans are saying about "One Shining Star: Age no boundaries: Clara Foote of Zephryllis FL, who has an Internet catering service tells us: “What surprised me most was that my eight year Nicki and my teenager Harry both love “One Shining Star.” Harry likes the guitar licks and Nicki likes to sing along, especially with the title song, “One Shining Star.” I am just tickled that they can agree on something. I love this CD. Age no boundaries: Rebecca Weisberg of Palmers Hill CT, a grandmother and former elementary school teacher wrote: “It is the cutest thing to watch Richard, my 2 year old grandson rock back and forth to “One Shining Star.” Every time I play this CD Richard comes over and stands in the middle of the room and does the baby two step with such a big smile I can’t help but laughing. Great CD. Very cool!" Stands the Test of Time: Wendell Olsen of St Louis MO, a music critic, says: “One Shining Star” is about feeling good. Each song starts you off in a great place to be and then it gets better from there. The other nice thing about “One Shining Star” is that it keeps getting better each time you play. This astonished me at first because I am used to listening to songs that sound the same. I’ve don’t remember ever having had the experience of having music grow on me as it did most definitely with “One Shining Star.” Great songwriting and spirited performances make this CD an absolute gem of entertainment. Good job JJ Slim."

Story behind the song
This song was recorded during a recording session while we were just finishing another tune. This song began as a Blues groove and kept on going. It was written as it came in. What you are hearing is the first time through. Because we were set up to record already it was easy to simply turn the recorder back on and write the music as we were playing it!
