Story behind the song
This song began as an off the cuff sample created to demonstrate the effective filters of Synth1 (metallic bassline) for a thread on KVR Audio. Then it grew into an actual bass line, and the solo over it just fell into place. Finally, the back half of the song was the result of my attempts to develop a lap steel tone (like Steve Howe) and it just seemed to fit the first part and so it all became a sort of a tune, or at least soundtrack to a dream. The whole step-by-step process is (or was) to be found on a thread on KVR, somewhere.
I fully realize the songs lacks classic structure. And yet in a way I love that it just is what it is and NOT in a formulaized commercial cookie-cutter shape - that's part of the charm! :)
But I suspect the song (or something like it) will end up the ending of a much larger piece one day. Who knows!?
