Story behind the song
Had an old Buick for what seemed like forever...despite everything it just never seemed to die until it finally got broadsided by a big ol' truck. That old Buick was the inspiration for this tale of woe.

Broke Down Buick Blues (c) 2002 Lyrics by Bobbie Gallup ASCAP, music and vocals by Bob Young, ASCAP http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=13299 Been walkin' these streets for mo' than a week Rain through the holes in my shoes A man can't get far when he ain't got a car Got them broke down Buick blues Broke down Buick blues My lady she's gone.... man, she left me alone Never made no excuse Now I'm missing my honey, miss my car, miss my money Got them broke down Buick blues Baby.... broke down Buick blues I used to cruise this town I looked good with the ragtop down Now all I got is a car that don't run An' walkin just ain't no fun She took my black Cadillac An' she never did take one look back Guess my cruisin' days are done Ain't collected no pay since she went away The boss man sez I'm through Can't get to work on time, down to my last dime Got them broke down Buick blues Baby...... broke down Buick blues I used to cruise this town Looked good with my ragtop down Now all I got is a car that don't run An' walkin just ain't no fun She took my black Cadillac She never did take one look back Guess my cruisin' days are done Detroit City ain't got no pity For a man with no wheels it's true Ain't no sympathy for the likes of me With them broke down Buick blues I tell ya..... broke down Buick blues One more time.... Got them broke down Buick blues TAG: Damn thing waddn't any good when it was new.
