Story behind the song
'Impact, influence and effectiveness' are three parts of any successful transfer of information or idealogies. To be at the most effective and to have the greatest impact, it is vital that the circumstances, timing, location and other important conditions come together precisely and uniformly. If the conditions are not precisely right, then even the best made plans will have little effect and will soon be forgotten. History has often overlooked both minor and major events because the timing or other conditions were not quite right. They have gone into the annals of our planet's 'forgotten INVALID Likewise, the statement, "timing is everything" has a truth often overlooked or glossed over. Comedians know that the delivery and timing of a punch line can either make or break a good joke. Marketing firms are aware of the importance of precise timing when launching multi-million dollar advertising / promotion campaigns. They realize that fortunes can be made or lost based upon the introduction of a marketing blitz. Retail store's 'bargain bins' are full of hard-to-sell merchandise which had the wrong initial release date. Under better timing and circumstances, these products might have sold better and been far more successful! When it comes to precise timing, our Father in heaven is a true master! He knows the best possible conditions in which to act or make His will known to humanity. He doesn't share our weakness of being impatient or short-sighted and often uses the art of 'delay' for maximum effect! To our shame, we desire for things to happen instantly... but God knows instant gratification is often a detriment instead of a benefit. That's why it's a good idea to pray "thy will be done" instead of "my will be done." In history's most important event, the earthly arrival of God's son Jesus, all the vital circumstances; exact location; and timing were amazingly precise in achieving the end results of permeating our world with knowledge of Christ and His gospel! Under a lesser time and place, God's message might not have spread and had the impact which it has had for the last two millennia. The result is that no other message has transcended time; culture; prejudices; thought; and humanity like the message of the cross of Christ! God definitely knew what He was doing! A remarkable number of significant changes took place within the 400 year period of Biblical 'silence' between the old and the new testaments. Jesus entered into a world that was precisely right for the important ministry and spiritual battle that He would engage in. The Holy Land's sociological, religious and political conditions were quite different from the ones in which Malachi had preached 400 years prior. With hindsight we see how God brought about the exact conditions in which to introduce His Son to a needy, hurting and sin-filled world! The Roman empire had dramatically spread, not only in the immediate region of Israel but throughout the entire western world! Rome was able to connect the many remote regions and unify them as a functioning part of the whole empire network. They developed an intricate road system which made travel much more accessible and feasible. The strict enforcement of Roman laws made cross-country travel safer and more dependable. Trade, culture and knowledge crossed geographical boundaries with ease and speed previously unheard of. Under the conquests of Alexander the Great, the Greek language had become the tongue of the suburban masses. This allowed for cross-cultural verbal communication and created better education and a higher literacy rate. Ideas and concepts existed in an environment which allowed them to cross culture and ethnic boundaries. Never before could diverse people groups communicate and interact so easily! These conditions were ideal for Christ's gospel to spread beyond the small borders of Israel and reach the world beyond! If Christ had entered history sooner than He did, his
