Story behind the song
This song was meant to have a reggae rhythm but with some jazzy elements popping up- hopefully in interesting places. The solo was played on an LP style guitar but the rhythm was done on a fender Strat, so it`s quite a contrast. The solo was written out and turned out to be a nice technical challenge, but for some reason I couldn`t get the guitar`s volume low enough to hear the background rhythm well so the guitar was quite loud over the rhythm track. Thus the synchopation is a little wobbly in places but actually it turned out to have a certain rough appeal. Sort of.
The song is basically about good people who sit and watch as bad people, bad things and negativity in general get all the attention, and wanting to `take a new step` to break out of that pattern.
