Lyrics
Okay, admit, it was pretty childish stepping on my toes and spitting in my face and watching as it froze in the absence of light coming from your dark heart of ice. And, now, y'all're sayin' "I was just playin'." Well, can't you play nice? I don't want my shit to be written off as some half-assed job -- some hip-hop slop like that white-chocolate Eminem snob. How you gonna rap in slow-mo', actin' like you got flow? Everybody knows your rhymes are whack, but mine are phat with a pH higher than acid, not like your momma got back. Oh no. Yeah, I did that: sent ya back to class, schooling on your momma's big, hairy, trailer trash, white ass. Look, I understand who I am, and where i came from. Doesn't mean that I don't have love for all the people in the hood or the RV park. Don't see no need to start any sort of discussion full of nothin' but tempers and cussin'. I'll put it plain and simple, the way I view this place: everyone on Earth gots soul and everyone got a face. But, some of us still think that we are higher 'cause of race, and the only diss in all of this is disgrace. 'Cause, from the man with thick wallets to the gentleman caller, to the slick basketballer, to the people who've fallen, to the ice cream man in summer, to the gagged and bound lovers, to the premature nutter, to the pregnant teen mother, I truly believe that everybody's a brother You think I am ridiculous because I am rappin' like this? Well, let me tell you something that's worth your while, and you'll just have to excuse my suburban style. I got lovin' for miles on end. I got lovin' for my girl, and lovin' for my friends. I got love for all the people who I've never met, and I got love for all the livin', and love for all the dead. So, look, it don't make you any less a man to give another dude a hug, or to hold somebody's hand. In fact, I think that we could -- yeah, I think that we can -- take the power of love and change the shape of this land. The trick is to not care about religion, or color, or sexuality, or wealth. 'Cause everybody's a brother.
