Story behind the song
As cheasy as they come. Some of my Sappiest lyrics. I wrote this whilst pre-lamenting the fact that I was about to have to leave my dog for a couple of months. I was missing him before I even left him.
He's a mutt. Parts rottwieler / german sheppard / chow / and I'm guessing cocker spaniel cause he never got near as big as I'd thought he would. Someone dumped him in front of my parents house right after Christmas a few years ago ... when I met him it was immediate addiction to each other. I had to keep him.
This song just tells that story ... it could have easily and cheasily been called "Puppy Love" instead :P
