I knew a young woman whose supposedly Christian husband used scriptures to brow beat her and make her life misersble. He was definitely not a loving spouse. This song is for anyone in a similar situation.

Story behind the song
Some men abuse their position of authority in their household. The scriptures call men to love their wives as Christ loves the church. A man like that, who also seeks wisdom from the Lord, makes it easy for his Christian wife to submit!
Lyrics
Deal With It by Susan Cantey © 2005 Verse: You took me aside, told me I must understand, That God has put woman in her husband's hands, You held up the Bible; said it was written in the book, I was afraid to tell you, that was a lousy excuse. CHORUS: You can deal with the truth today, You can deal with the truth tomorrow, You can deal with the truth next week, But you will deal with it, deal with it, (repeat) Deal with it; deal with it. Yeah! Verse 2: I packed my bags while you were asleep, Left the Bible open to the part you never read, Husbands love your wives as Christ loves the church, A love like that, should never hurt! CHORUS BRIDGE: You should've loved me! Hear my voice. Didn't want to leave you. Had no choice. CHORUS CHORUS CANON
