Story behind the song
Lead/Background Vocals, Guitar Solo (Bridge): strobicaxe Guitars, Synth, Bass & Production: iisee Lyrc: iisee, dreamcastle33, mlprat There is quite a story behind this one!! Dreamcastle33 (Rittman) sent me a lyric a LONG time ago called ‘Wild Turkey Man’…it had some interesting lyrics in it so I said “Sure, let’s give it a shot”!! After a few back and forth rewrites, I sent mlprat what we had and told him I was hearing it as a kinda heavy blues song and asked him if he wanted to start us off on a melody…he said “Sure, let’s give it a shot”!! He sent me back what I would call a “Texas Blues” song that didn’t exactly match what I was thinking but had some kewl 7th chords in it….. After that, I went to work and came up with the basic melody and structure for this tune!! Very “grunge blues” Rittman called it!! And very different from where we started but what I was hearing for where I thought the song should go…..The three of us finished off the lyric and I shipped it off to strobicaxe (Alex) with a really bad singing demo my yours truly!! I also asked Alex if he could add a little ‘hooky’ guitar part to the bridge and the extrobridge part…..He graciously agreed, and that’s how this song came to be….. So sit back, grab some headphones if you have ‘em, cuz this song was: MADE LOUD TO BE PLAYED LOUD!!!!!
Lyrics
Wild Turkey Man Lyrics: Jeff Southerland, Rittman, Mike Pratt Music: Jeff Southerland Verse 1 Cast out like a bad seed…. Stomped down like a sad weed.. God help him …. He’s a Wild Turkey Man… Sweat crawlin’ like a reptile Salt streakin down his last smile No quarter … For the Wild Turkey Man Chorus So it’s one shot For the people And it’s one shot Just for the pain And it’s one shot For the broken heart Than needs a fix again….. Verse 2 Heart twisted like a corkscrew Soul cracked up like an old shoe… God help him…. He’s a Wild Turkey Man… Bone tired from years of runnin…. Used up …finally done in…. Road’s ending…. For the Wild Turkey Man Chorus Bridge Verse 3 Wipe away all the regrets Satisfy all the old debts… Re-demp-tion …. Saves the Wild Turkey Man…. Last call by the roadside… Last ride against the rip tide.. Re-demp-tion …. Saves the Wild Turkey Man…. Chorus Bridge Refrain And it’s one shot For the broken heart Than needs a fix again….. And it’s one shot For the broken heart Than needs a fix again Copyright © 2006 SarahDog Tunes/Jeff Southerland
