This song is a collaboration. Mike Wich started the ball rolling with the simple guitar, the bass parts and the arrangement. Sam Chadwick (our friend Sambo from the Zoom Forum) added the phased/flanged guitar and then Rick Jones went to town, adding everything else you hear (especially the weirdness :))
IDENTITY
much, would it be too much?
we don't want to touch
we just want to know your
identity
i see you- you're deep in the shadows
peek-a-boo, the eyes of a cat
what are you afraid of?
(c'mon, you can tell me)
is it Lee?
(well, is it?)
is it me?
(awww, surely not)
is it 'Z'?
(bingo!)
in the dead of night i'm not alone-
i see guests
i see peeping toms
mystery guests come
read and listen but can't post
a digital breeze
hai-ku
bless you
ooooo-who said that?
he opens his manual- page one
written in some strange language
he'll never understand
so he turns the dial on the radio
looking for someone
hoping someone can lend a hand
but do we really understand?
he just wants talkback
in the dead of night i'm not alone
i see guests
i see peeping toms
is it technophobia?
are you from Nairobia?
Sault St. Marie? Manitobia?
we won't disrobia
we just wan kenobi ya
identity
(guitar solo)
in the dead of night i'm not alone
i see guests
i see peeping toms
they working in silence
they might be zombies
they might be google-bots
out to get me
is it technophobia?
are you from Nairobia?
Sault St. Marie? Manitobia?
we won't disrobia
just want to know ya
we want to know ya
identity
