I've been a fan of the blues since before I could play guitar. Still can't play the style that well, but liked the way this song played in my head. It doesn't get that deep into theory, but simply says that there's a better way in Jesus. I think that message still needs to be heard.
VERSE
Lay down your worries
Lay down your fears
It doesn’t matter
What you—have—done
You know
You’re welcome here.
CHORUS
The Father,
He calls you.
You know He calls you by name
Just enter His presence
And leave behind the pain.
VERSE
You say you’ve been through
Some hard times
You say you feel so alone
You say you’ve traveled
So far—from—Him
Well, friend,
It’s time to come home.
CHORUS
The Father,
He wants you.
He wants you back with Him, again.
Just enter His presence
And leave behind the pain.
INSTRUMENTAL
VERSE
Now, Jesus, He suffered
Yeah, He suffered and died
But after three days
He rose—a—gain
Friend, you’re the reason
He’s alive.
CHORUS
The Father,
He loves you.
You know He loves us all the same.
Just enter His presence
And leave behind the pain.
TAG
Yeah the Father,
He loves you.
You know He loves us all the same.
Just enter His presence
And leave behind the pain.
