Lyrics
DILBERTS BLUES(DP) (Written by David R. Pankoski Dec 2005) A new slogans gonna save the day, The CEOa€™s bennies steal the savings away. Marketing genius replan the plan, Engineering changes design again. Geeks in control of systems domain, Gonna upgrade the software again. Motivational posters send the message home, Sleepwalk all day imaginations roam. Something for nothing the management way, Nothings changed same every day. Team player on a losing team, Unsure futures shattered dreams. Cheap trinkets & baseball caps, Company logos on your dog & cat. Safety promotions sound absurd, But they always get the final word. Downsize this outsource that, Sacrifice people but still a fat-cat. Hidden agenda wasted meetings, Phony books with hidden meanings. Accounting group world of their own, Their business philosophy sets the tone. Quarterly report is king, Maximizing worth not anything. Human resources bunch of clowns, shrinking bennies got you down. Motivational seminars sharpen your focus, Expert speaker sounding bogus. Monday morning quarterbacks, Useless unproven theory hacks. Management consultants save the day, steal your ideas for twice your pay. You are wrong the customers right, Rework it all into the night. Proposal bid looking sweet, But with the lowest bidder you cana€™t compete. Geeks still in control of systems domain, Gonna upgrade the hardware again. Sacrificed life and family, Built that nest-egg in a rotten tree. You ask for input it falls on deaf ears, ignore my ideas & that of my peers. You pay a consultant & get the same, results ignored just playin a game. When we complain our attitudea€™s bad, management incompetence thata€™s what sad. Your time is up & your health is failing, your pensiona€™s stolen & the 401a€™s ailing. Welcome to Corporate America Dilbert - it just doesna€™t get any better than thisa€¦
