you put the key into the lock and you turn it to the left
and when the door is staying shut then you’re knocking once again
that’s a knock knock knock and you’re sitting on the ledge
and you hope that someone comes to the door and lets you in
to your house
where your lover sits alone
on the couch
and watches tv in the living room
but you sit for hours on the edge, you’re all alone
but you’re waiting outside in the cold and in the snow
just like your love on your bed inside your room
and you’re turning to the right, grab your bags and then you go
to your car
you shut the door and drive away
when the door
of the house is opening
and so you’ve left it all behind and you’re never looking back
if you keep your eyes forward then you’ll keep yourself on track
from the busy street to the highway on the left
and your cellphone rings singing,
“when are you coming back?”
