in the himalayan mountains, tibetan monks are known for creating thier own inner heat or "tuomo" to defy the cold. this is especailly prevalent when thier tuomo tested in an initiation ceremony where they sit naked by a river in the night while fellow monks pure ice water over them. when the world is absolutely falling apart, so tuomo is a metaphor for just holding your own while everything around you falls to pieces... plus i believe I was once tibetan in another life.

Story behind the song
the lyrics came one night after watching vanilla sky. something about how sad it was that he had lost her but kept re-imagining her. something about clouds, too. I got up in the middle of the night and jotted it down quick. the next day i recorded it out in the country near the grand canyon
