Story behind the song
Kazek sings, Elliot's on bass and drums and keys and I'm guitaring. I wanted to write a song about taking chances and mustering courage to stand out.
Lyrics
Clouds and canyons right before my eyes. Old companions wouldn't recognise me now. With every chance and nothing left to say, do you face the sun or turn the other way? Would you sit there in the kitchen like you do sometimes and smile? It's just an ordinary day in a big wide open world. You put your soul out in the wind and set your heart out on the waves. You see all manner of receptions and you think of better days. And all the while out by the ocean the phone is sitting in my hand. I give in to my devotion: I forget my pride and I talk to you and I'm left wide open. You put your soul out in the wind and set your heart out on the waves. You see all manner of receptions and you think of better days.
