Newly updated remix - Louis Brown wrote the lyrics and I did the music on this cool Country song. It has an infectious beat and a kickin' Gospel style chorus that you gotta love. Climbed to #3 Country-Pop (Jan 2006)
A great collaboration effort with Louis Brown and myself. Louis has got to be one of the nicest and most easy going writers that I have ever worked with. Did I mention that he is a really excellent writer as well?
I was having trouble getting a good musical track and asking him to make multiple changes to get the words to fit. He was always super fast at getting the changes made and making them fit perfectly. While he was not getting to hear the music he never questioned my judgment and sprang into action to give me what I needed. Great Job Louis.
My Lover, My Friend
Words: Louis Brown Music: Michael Peace © 2006
Verse 1
I love to get close to the gal I love most
She warms up the night dark and long
My boss rode my case
And my whole day was a waste
But tonite, ain’t no way to go wrong
Verse 2
Life’s cold winds may blow on the world that I know
But that homefire tonight will be glowing
She's mighty good to me
Like it's her solemn duty
To keep all my dreams up and going"
Chorus
Thank God, for my lover, my friend
Thank God, for my lover, my friend
When the moon starts to shine
She's mine She's all mine
Thank God, for my lover, my friend
Verse3
She’s warm in the winter, darn good with a splinter
She makes all my problems so small
When I’m close to this wonder
I can feel my heart thunder…..
Hate to brag but this guys’s got it all
