This song describes a tribe of Gothic warriors during the period of the fall of Rome. It is based on the mythical story of how the warriors summoned black clouds as a cover across God's eyes so they will not be punished for the extent of destruction.
Rob-I thought of the title for this one while on a flight back from Seattle, and the plane was flying into the sunset and the clouds below kept getting blacker and blacker the further the sun and the plane moved. The main riffs were thought up over the summer while experimenting with drop tuning. So far this and "Engulf in Bullets" are the only songs in drop.
