Story behind the song
Wrote this song when i lived in Tucson and had occasion to frequent some of the local watering holes..
Lyrics
When i first rolled in to town i didn't know a soul...but i knew that i was good and dry...Inside this old saloon, is where she caught my eye...this local girl who was gettin' pretty high... Well i strolled on over beside her, and turned to her with a smile, I said "Tell me, are the stories really true? Are the woman in this town the wildest one's around?" and with the Devil's grin this is what she said.. Chorus...She said the Girls From Tucson, they sure can do some..howlin' in the desert so fine...yeah the Girls From Tucson, they sure get loose on sunshine, tequila and wine. Well i looked her in the eye, and said "What'll it be...that cactus juice or somethin' from the vine?" ..she said "make mine tequila..and don't forget yourself..'cause drinkin' alone in Tucson is a crime" Well ya know that Cuervo Gold, it don't put you on hold...it was up, up and away for the night...Now i can testify, and Lord it ain't no lie...that local girl was absolutely right... Chorus
