Story behind the song
I used to go to this church that had members of the congregation that thought children were rude obnoxious creatures who spoiled the whole worship service. We don't go there anymore.
Lyrics
The Future of our Church Charles W - t Consaul 1. They eat all the cookies They run through the halls They hide in the bathrooms And they write upon the walls Talkign through the sermons Giggling through the prayers But when you try and talk to them Then they just sit and stare 2. Wrestling with each other In the street or parking lot Until you go and look for the Then that's where they are not Never, Ever, Ready When it's time to come or go But if you tell them Anything, Their answer is I KNOW! C: Eventually they grow up And act a lot like us Sitting in the pews Never making any fuss Sleeping through the sermons Mumbling through the songs They suffocate thier spirits Just to get along 3. But another generation Always seems to come along Irreverant, undisciplined But capable and strong Tearing down the architecture In their passionate search Could these lunatics Be the future of our church?
