Solo piece. (Thanks to Simon Williams in NZ for a better mix!)
I tightly grasped a paper heart
Of fragile, silky red array
‘Twas scorched by fire too many times
Now it's a sullen charcoal gray
You gathered up the charred remains
And pressed them in your hand that day
Then sketched the most amazing scene
In stunning strokes of charcoal gray
Then you adorned
The dust I'd spurned
‘Til love and trust
Returned
Though the smoky ash of times long past
Could have held tremendous sway
With elegant simplicity
You created a Monet
With Charcoal Gray
You transformed my Charcoal Gray
