Story behind the song
The music of “Kinderszenen”, Op. 15 by Schumann inspired me to write this song. It is about one of those rare moments when you experience perfection, or real happiness.
Lyrics
You stand and gaze across the sea The sunlight in your hair I stand amazed as I can see Perfection everywhere There’s nothing else I wish for now The earth would stop revolving if you asked it I stand and stare, afraid to breathe Afraid to spoil the view If only time would die to save This moment for us two If only I could find out how And then you turn and smile at me and I I find that you have just improved Perfection once again
