Excellent slower track in the vein of "40" by U2. In my top five or six favorite songs we wrote.

Modern Rock
Kicking Water was a great alternative rock band in the late Nineties through the new Millenium (1997 - 2001). They put out 2 full length CDs and two EPs in that time. Not bad for an independant act! Plus, they have almost another CD's worth of material they never recorded that is sitting on demo tapes and CDs waiting to be re-discovered.

Story behind the song
It's so hard to remember how we came about certain songs . . . I believe this was a bass riff that Bryan had and I had some lyrics I had written about an unloved child who grew up not in the best of situations. It worked. Bryan added some beautiful piano parts to it and it just gelled together in the studio.
