Story behind the song
We only get one shot at life and this song reminded me that I let a whole lot of it pass me by before I decided to start playing again. I spent many years with my nose to the grindstone while my friends and family tried to convince me that there was more to living than what I was getting out of it. Once it's gone, you can never get it back. As my father is so fond of saying, "Make sure you take time to smell the roses."
All my songs are essentially live. They are recorded in one take and no studio tricks (like punch-ins, overdubbing, or cut and paste) were used.
